Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden

The Royal Botanic Garden, established in 1670, is one of the finest in the world where unusual and beautiful plants can be found and is home to over 6% of all known plants.

The Garden is over 28 hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds, featuring the world famous Rock Garden, 11 unique glasshouses including Britain's tallest Palm House, the Tranquil Chinese Hillside complete with wild water ravine and Queen Mother's Memorial Garden.

Situated only 1 mile north of the city centre.

Opening times

The Garden is open daily

(except 25 December and 1 January).

Opening hours:

November & February: 10.00am - 4.00pm

March & October: 10.00am - 6.00pm

April to September: 10.00am - 7.00pm

Glasshouses close:

November to February: 3.30pm

March to October: 5.00pm.

Admission to the Garden is free.

Charges apply to the Glasshouses:

Adults £3.50, Concessions £3, Children £1, Families (2 adults and up to 4 children) £8.

Friends enjoy free admission to the Glasshouses.
